Taiga is not just another fencing company.
It started with a simple frustration.
Having worked in landscaping and fencing for over 10 years, Tom has installed hundreds of metres of traditional timber fencing. Feather edge. Panels. Posts. Gravel boards. He knows what works, what fails and what customers end up replacing far too soon.
Again and again, he found himself using tanalised timber because that was the industry standard. Chemically treated. Green. Meant to last. But over time he began asking a bigger question.
Is this really the best we can do?
Working hands on in gardens every day, you see how people use their spaces. Children playing. Pets running along fence lines. Wildlife moving through hedgerows. Schools building outdoor classrooms. Nurseries creating natural play areas.
Tom wanted an alternative. Something durable. Something premium. Something natural.
That search led him to Thermowood. Traditionally used for internal cladding and saunas, Thermowood is timber that has been heat treated at high temperatures using only heat and steam. No chemicals. No pressure treatment. Just a natural modification process that improves stability and durability.
Most people were using it indoors, but Tom saw something different.
He saw a fencing material that would not warp and twist in the same way as standard treated pine. He saw a deep, rich tone that would weather beautifully. He saw a product that felt honest and 100% natural.
So he decided to build with it.
At our production unit in Leicestershire, every Taiga panel is made to order. We do not produce in bulk and leave stock sitting in yards. Each fence is crafted for its setting.
Our range includes:
The design is clean and contemporary, but the build is traditional. Proper joinery. Attention to grain direction. Consideration for expansion and movement. The kind of details that only come from experience on site.
For posts and gravel boards, we use Accoya. It is one of the most stable and durable modified timbers available and provides a solid, long lasting foundation to the fence system. There is little point in building a premium panel if the structure beneath it is ordinary.
Everything we use is chosen for longevity and sustainability.
The name Taiga comes from the great northern forest biome. In a literal sense it represents vast pine forests, regrowth, natural cycles and resilience.
That philosophy runs through everything we do.
We believe in working with fast growing, sustainable species. We believe in craftsmanship over volume. We believe in creating products that age gracefully rather than fail prematurely.
Taiga Fencing was born from years on site. From lifting panels that should not have failed. From replacing posts too soon. From wanting something better.
That’s why we provide sustainable fencing that’s built naturally and designed to last.
